Lip fillers can be received on the same day as your initial consultation. If you prefer to receive treatment on a different day, our Patient Coordinator can help you schedule your appointment. 

Please be advised to avoid NSAIDs or blood thinners like ibuprofen or aspirin prior to treatment to prevent bruising.

What to Expect on the Day of a Lip Filler Treatment

Come in with your best smile, and leave with a better one! On the day of your lip filler appointment at the Kaga Academy in Red Bank, our trained and certified staff will treat you with as much care as possible to ensure a comfortable experience. 

To protect your skin and facilitate a smooth procedure, your lips and the surrounding tissue will be cleaned and marked with strategic injection sites. If you prefer local anesthesia or numbing ointments, we can happily provide those for a more relaxed experience. 

Your certified provider will inject your chosen filler into the injection site and gently massage the product to evenly disperse it. The filler will be added in incremental amounts until both you and your provider decide you have reached even lips and achieved the desired shape. 

After the injections, your skin will be cleansed again. The process is fairly quick, and you can expect to see instant results.

Lip Fillers Recovery

After the procedure, you may experience swelling or discomfort. We will provide you with an ice pack to help minimize these effects.

The recovery process for lip fillers varies depending on the individual patient and the type of filler used. Typically, most people can resume their daily activities shortly after the procedure. That said, for best results, please avoid intense physical activity for 24 to 48 hours to reduce bruising and continue to apply ice packs to reduce swelling.

Your skin may feel sore and achy, but this will subside within 7-10 days post-procedure.
