She will then evaluate the skin condition of your target area and suggest the techniques with their associated pros and cons.

At the end of the consultation, she will recommend a treatment plan, which you can take to our patient coordinator to receive your injection immediately following your consultation. If you prefer, you can schedule it for a more convenient time later.

What to Expect on the Day of BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers

On the day of your BOTOX or wrinkle relaxer appointment, Dr. Kaga and her staff will welcome you to the practice and ensure your comfort. They will then review the treatment plan one more time to ensure everyone is in agreement.

The procedure begins with facial cleansing to ensure that no other chemicals are present in the target area. Next, you will be given a cold compress or topical anesthetic and marked at the injection site. 

Dr. Kaga will inject small doses of the toxin directly into the marked area using an ultra-fine needle. A gentle massage will follow this to help alleviate any pressure or pinching sensation and gently spread the toxin under the skin.

A typical BOTOX or wrinkle-relaxer treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete without complications.

BOTOX & Wrinkle Relaxers Recovery

Post-injection, we ask patients to stay at the office for fifteen minutes in case they have an allergic reaction. You can then leave with our post-treatment care instructions.

Since BOTOX and wrinkle relaxers are noninvasive, recovery is fast. There is mild redness, swelling, or slight bruising at the injection sites, but that resolves within a few hours to a few days. We recommend refraining from strenuous physical activity for 24-48 hours to allow the toxin to settle. It is also recommended to avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas.
